Since 1968, TST has led the industry in the design and manufacture of a wide array of electronic components for the specialty vehicle industry. We operate two ISO-9001:2008 Certified manufacturing facilities Indiana. Electrical control systems, Eagle Eye™, Underbody Lighting, and stock parts are produced, tested and shipped from here. Our engineering competencies include electronic micro-controller system development, electrical panel design, mechanical design, and PC Board design and layout.

We design and produce electronic control, safety, and wire harness products for specialty, commercial and emergency vehicles.

In 2007, Riverside Mfg. LLC., purchased Transportation Safety Technologies (TST).  TST continues to apply its technical experience to design and  manufacture electronic controls and safety systems for the commercial delivery, local service and emergency and utility service fleet vehicles. The joining of TST and Riverside adds 2 additional Indiana production facilities in Kendallville and Ft. Wayne, as well as a complete staff of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Prototype specialists.

Combined annual sales for Transportation Safety Technologies, Inc. and Riverside Mfg., LLC was $70M+. Approximately 450 Employees are employed at our four facilities.

Eagle Eye™ Monitors side and rear “blind areas” or “no zones” for vehicles or objects. It alerts drivers to potential contact beginning at 8 to 10 feet away from his or her vehicle and improves overall driver hazard awareness. Eagle Eye™ is the most rugged and extreme grade product on the market today. It is specifically designed for harsh use.

In the mid 1970’s Riverside was acquired by Lehigh Valley Industries, and expanded into military products. In 1992, fourteen year Riverside President/CEO Harold R.Barr purchased 100% of Riverside making it an individually owned small business focused on harsh environment electronics. In 2002 Fred Merritt purchased controlling interest of the company and he is currently the sole shareholder and CEO. Since then Riverside has continually grown in size, adding more product lines and customers.

Riverside has become a specialized military supplier. Riverside supplies products for the US Military and other Free World Countries. Riverside supplies numerous products for Wheeled Tire Vehicles (i.e. Hummer, 2 1/2 Ton and 5 Ton Trucks) and Track Vehicles (i.e. M113, Bradley). Customers include AM General Corporation, Raytheon, Stewart & Stevenson, BAE Systems, Freightliner/Chrysler, Osh Kosh, International Truck, American Truck (Terex), United Defense and the US Government.

We have six multi-disciplined degreed engineers on staff with over 80 years of combined experience with military systems and products. We offer a total concept to final product solution for business, as well as product improvement support. We can assist with prototyping and design of your product. We use the latest 3D and 2D software available to generate concepts that can quickly be turned into SLS prototypes, as well as design to manufacture prototypes. Once prototyped, Riverside can arrange the testing services for your application necessary for product approval. Having the manufacturing capabilities in house, the transition from prototype to production is easily accomplished at Riverside.
